Mission & Values

Mission

The Colonial Baseball Summer League exists to create a consistent, high quality summer baseball environment where town teams can compete, improve, and enjoy the game. We aim to deliver an organized season that supports players, coaches, and families and reflects the best parts of town baseball.

Values

CBSL is built on player development through meaningful reps and quality competition. We expect sportsmanship, respect, and positive conduct from everyone involved players, coaches, parents, and umpires. We believe in clear expectations and accountability, with league information shared openly and consistently. We operate with a volunteer first mindset by keeping administration simple and tools easy to use. And we invest back into the communities we serve by offering player scholarships and town grants to support participation and local programs.

WHY CBSL

CBSL is a town based summer travel league built to keep kids playing locally and to make summer baseball easier to run. After coaching and coordinating youth baseball, it was clear that summer teams especially B teams often need games earlier, clearer structure, and better support for volunteers.

CBSL is designed to:

  • Keep kids playing locally all summer with a predictable schedule and minimal travel
  • Create a development first, sportsmanship focused, fun competitive environment
  • Reduce the administrative burden for town coordinators and coaches with one shared system
  • Be transparent with rules, schedules, standings, and communication
  • Stay affordable by keeping the model simple and volunteer friendly
  • Give back through a scholarship program for players and a small grant program for participating towns
